Many parents contemplate variedly and review different names for the naming ceremony of their child. The motive behind their efforts in naming this
way may be good. The name may have meaning too. However, it is important to take cognizance that the name thus chosen does not have any inauspicious meaning in any dimension.
The poet Māgha composed a epic to narrate the story of śrīkr̥ṣṇa. However, while naming his poetic work, he did not heed the above guideline. He titled it as Śiśupālavadha. The work came to be recognized by the inauspicious term vadha (assassination). Śrīvādirāja composed an eminent epic narrating the glories of śrīkr̥ṣṇa. He named it as rugmiṇīśavijaya. While the first name is negative, the second name is auspicious in all dimensions.
Thus, Śrīvādirāja has subtly exemplified to us as to how a child should be named.
