With hatred towards the Lord in the heart, Trunaavarta (an asura) desired to do the impossible. He intended to kill Lord Krishna by dropping him off from a great height. He was foolish enough to think that he could lift the Lord who shelters the entire universe inside of Him. The Omniscient Lord let Trunaavarta lift Him up sky-high only to ensure that the asura was eventually shoved to his death. What was initially an easy ascend for Trunaavarta, gradually became agonizing, and later turned out to be fatal. Same would be the consequence for anyone desiring to reach salvation but with hatred towards the Lord.
When the desire is malicious or undeserved, it must be noted that the higher one climbs, the harder they fall.
