Sri Madhwacharya was staying at Hrishikesh, the holy place on the banks of the Ganga. During the course of his stay, Lord Rudra came in the guise of a brahmin and prostrated in front of Acharya Madhwa. He requested Acharya to accept his offering (bhiksha) and bless him. Everyone witnessing the same were astonished. Later, Lord Rudra offered his respects to Acharya Madhwa by arranging for bhiksha through one of his devotees. Through this, Lord Rudra showed everyone that Acharya Madhwa was his Guru. Thereafter, Acharya reached the holy place of Ishupaata. He paid his salutations to its patron deity Lord Parashurama. At that place Acharya was able to effortlessly eat 1000 huge bananas known as ‘Rajakeli’ which were offered by the king in the guise of testing Acharya.
Later, Acharya reached Goa. There he ate 4000 Bananas offered to him by a brahmin named Shankara. He also consumed 30 pots of milk. Through all this, Acharya Madhwa showed his immense digestive power to the entire world. How could all of this be a challenge to Sri Madhwa, an incarnation of Lord Vaayu himself, who had digested the deadly Kaalakoota poison? He has shown that he has all sorts of capabilities through his miracles. Later, during the same Goa visit, some of his devotees requested him to sing a couple of melodies. Acharya Madhwa sang with his mellifluous voice. His melody was such that even the plants and trees which had hitherto never produced any flowers and fruits, began blossoming and bearing fruit. In this way Acharya Madhwa exhibited his singing prowess and miracles to the world at large.
A picture depicting this incident of Acharya Madhwa singing melodiously, adorns the cover page of this edition.
