विष्णुना विष्णुभक्तैश्च ब्रह्मशापोsनुवर्त्यते |
ब्राह्मणानां अपीडायै बलभिः क्षत्रियादिभिः ||
viṣṇunā viṣṇubhaktaiṣcha brahmaṣāpōnuvartyatē |
brāhmaṇānām apīdāyai balabhih kshatriyādibhih ||

In order that there is no suffering for brahmins at the hands of the powerful kshatriyas, Lord Vishnu and the devatas, who are devotees of Vishnu, accept brahma-shāpa.
