Treading on the path of dharma

The Vedas have directed that, if one is born human, one ought to lead a life of righteousness and follow dharma. The Bhagavata which strives to elucidate the Vedas, puts forth the directive that righteousness must be “Prōjjhitakaitava”. This means following the path of righteousness must not be for vanity or for materialistic gains. It must be deceitless and without expectations of any gains in return.
In order to go nearer to God, one must take off the mask of being righteous and be actually righteous.
