gurur na sa syāt sva-jano na sa syāt

Mundane existence is akin to death that stands hovers around us. One who does not preach detachment from worldly affairs and reaching God, but, on the contrary propagates teachings that lead us into the whirl of mundanity is no guru at all. Neither father nor mother nor the divine nor the spouse – such gurus are our hidden enemies. One shouldn’t live trusting them.
