Rāmāyaṇa is a holy epic that awards eminence in life. It bestows the virtue and eligibility to cross over and rise above the lower realms. The Rāmāyaṇa grants all that one wishes for; including Vaikunta – the very abode of Lord Rāmā.
Rucheeka bestowed his wife Satyavati with a boon, as a result of which, Vishwamitra attained the stature of a Brahman and became purified. Therefore, Lord Rama along with Lakshmana chose to be his disciples. (Pūtaṁ vipratvaprāptyā pavitraṁ viśvāmitraṁ āpnōti śiṣyatayā prāpnōtīti pūtātmā)
Despite traversing a great distance of 100 yojanas, defeating the demons such as Simhike etc, Lord Hanumanta introduced himself as a faithful servant of Lord Rama without any pride and vanity. Servitude is one of the nine types of devotion (Bhakti) we have to offer to the supreme Lord. Servitude implies dedicating ourselves to the supreme Lord. There is no greater example than Lord Hanumanta for us to follow.
